Your poems are you, in bits and pieces;
A little here and a little there
In the essence and the sense

I recognise me in you
I flow in the river of your words
Merging drops of thoughts and feelings

But I don’t even know you
And I don’t know if I want to know you or me
I am on the verge of leaving without wanting to know

But something keeps me from leaving
So abruptly, just as I must have come
Without knowing; yet wanting to know the unknowable

And something inside me wants to be written
And hence I write, until words stop racing in my head
And numbness smothers voices inside

Like a thousand lovely stars
Distant and cold
Creating the illusion of warmth in a cold night

Words pour our of me and flow into the unknown
Delivering themselves
And creating the illusion of a life of their own
