I feel every organisation has two sides to it, one how they lead their tribe and second what is the culture, internally. How you lead your tribe is very important and it is the most visible part of any organisation. But sometimes not enough attention is paid to the other half, the culture that you build internally at your organisation. It is a very critical factor that decides the future of the organisation.
An ideal organisation needs to cultivate an open culture where ideas are respected, where people are made to feel part of the process. It's not about clearing wishlist but to be understanding and accomdating. It is to empower every member of the team and see to it that they aren't just working but they care about the work that they do. A culture where work becomes fun.
You may say it's an ideal organisation and things don't quite work that way out there. I am on a journey to find the answer myself, but as Ford once said "Think you can and think you can't either way you will be right".
IDEO is one company that I really admire and an interesting article about the founder and his ideas.
